These doorstops are made using seasoned Oak wood, and as this material can vary in shape, size and colour and therefore each one is truly individual.

Oak of this nature and size will continue to season for decades and over the first few days or weeks (or even months) of being in its new home your doorstop will settle into its new environment. Depending upon where it is being kept, its new environment may result in a few characterful splits appearing, this is all in the character of the wood and the natural ageing process. It will not affect the function of the product and the handle remain sturdy.

We don't recommend placing our doorstops in environments with underfloor heating or those that are too close to the heat source of a centrally heated room i.e. radiators or open fires etc. The maturing process of your doorstop will naturally be accelerated due to the constant warm environment.
